Yes, it's like a parking lot, but you can hear the ocean!! We opted to pay extra for a spot close, but the beach is not a long walk from any site. For us, being able to walk on the beach with our dog (leashed, of course) is a major plus. Maybe when more crowded it would be less enjoyable, but we'd definitely try it again! We really like it! Folks in office are friendly & helpful.

We arrived on Thanksgiving, were warmly welcomed and invited to a feast. Since we had no food to contribute, we insisted on giving a donation, which we were told would be used toward the Christmas dinner. Owners were very helpful with directions. We were very glad we stopped here and will return! Location is conveniently close to I-95.

Wonderful family campground! Spacious sites, though most are not quite level, and very friendly rangers. The location is out of the way, so not a good "quick stop," but for kicking back for a bit, it's ideal.

Very convenient location, right off I75. Escapees 50% discount made it especially attractive. Nice play area for families. Owners pleasant and helpful. Perfect for an overnight stop en route. Distant from attractions, stores, activities. We'd stop again.

We were here for a few days in January 2008 & appreciated the wilderness, yet, using Truman Parkway, the access to Savannah. Returned in March, so I could easily attend a conference in Savannah, while leaving my family in a lovely spot. We agree with previous reviews. Both times we were here the campground was full! Sites can be muddy & the bugs annoying, but we'll be back!

Ideal spot for nature lovers! This is a remote get-away location. There are spacious woodsy sites, with paths for walking or biking. Fabulous indoor heated pool. Laundry facilities are minimal.
